"CJ Marsicano is without a doubt, one of the most outspoken and passionately unapologetic characters to ever grace the world of wrestling journalism... an outspoken dog-in-the-fight." -- Blake Norton, The Bagpipe Report/IGN Wrestling.

9.3.02, 11:06 - Threw up the new updates over at TeamWBPX.com (Aaron's What I Saw On Raw recap and Kris' Pop Culture Locket). As you can guess, trying to keep up with that site has had this old warhorse left behind a little... which means that now this literally is a personal site devoted to all my creative endeavors (the wrestling and music writing, my other writings, my music, etc.) and whatever other musings I want to share with you all. So.. I might as well relate what is up with me when I'm not trying to fill John Brodigan's shoes over at Wrestling Bytes and Project X...
The music... The album I was working on, Paradise Is Only 375 Miles From Babylon, is on hold while I work on TeamWBPX.com. The next single, A.F.C., is sonically ready but I still do not have any cover art of any kind finished. Complicating that, I am thinking of reviving one of the old Rabbit Hunters (the fake band name I used to use for my electronic music) tracks to put on the A.F.C. single as a bonus track. I'll keep you posted there.
BREAKING KAYFABE... This too is on hold, ironically, because of TeamWBPX.com. I may be doing more music-related writing before I write anything directly related to wrestling. For some odd reason, writing ideas have been coming up for everything but the article that pretty much got my writing aspirations in full motion.
Other writings... I'm working on two things right now for Project X, one related to a certain incident at the VMA's, and the other being a record review. You'll just have to wait and see what those are about in a day or two. (I did do a recap of the VMA's as it happened last Thursday and boy, did I hear from a few people who didn't appreciate what I had to say about certain artists...)
On top of that, I'm working on a few different books. One of them is going to be a poetry chapbook, mostly goofy shit along the lines of early Henry Rollins stuff. I've already got a good idea of how to lay it out but I'm still picking out pieces from the backlog of stuff I've written in that vein and typing it out. Look for that here soon. I may offer some sort of online ordering through this site for both that book, as well as the A.F.C. single if I choose not to put it out through MP3.com.
I'm also working on a couple of things in the fiction vein... at least three different book projects at once! Basically what I am doing there is jotting down appropriate ideas for whatever book comes at any time on legal pads, then typing those into the computer. To give you an even bigger idea as to how these books are coming, I'm already four or five subsequent chapters into two of the books, while the third is coming along in random pieces that come along whenever. Also, I'm firming up a couple of short stories that I may be sending around to magazines. Again, I'll keep you all posted there.
Personal shit... Relationship-wise, I'm still seeing the lovely Rachel D., truly an angel amongst angels. As for what happened to her predecessor... I happened to see her at the pay phone at the post office when I went to check my P.O. Box. I said nothing to her and hoped to hell that she didn't see me, but a few nights later I happen to get an IM while I was out of the room from my ex, saying that she did see me. Can't win 'em all. Again, it's her loss and Rachel's gain.
And... this little black katshke got himself a new car last week. And I mean new NEW car, not "new" used car. A black 2002 Kia Sportage 4x4. After taking my old 1998 Kia from here to Toronto and back, not to mention all over Eastern Pennsylvania several times over, it was time to trade up. Nice improvements in this year's model, plus I also have cruise control again for the first time since I got rid of my old Acura. It drives like a dream and I've already got over 200 miles on the little fucker. You're welcome. :)
This site... Since Bianca is over at Wrestling Bytes and some of the other guys are either syndicated or out of touch, I won't be reproducing other writers' material here anymore. If you want to write, go to www.wrestlingbytes.com or www.proj-ex.net, depending on your particular poison, and check the guidelines under "Write For Us". So, that means that while I'll continue to archive my columns here, that also means I'll be changing some things around on this site very soon.
That's about it... See you soon. Take care of each other!

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM CJ MARSICANO,
JUNE 26, 2002: "As of July 1st, 2002, I will be taking over the
daily operations of WrestlingBytes.com and Proj-ex.net from John Brodigan
and overseeing the transition of both sites from Webseed to its new
independent location later this summer. I am very excited to be bringing my
expertise from running OutsiderEdge.com and FrancineECW.com to the site that
John, myself, and the rest of the Scoops/IWrestling/Snowball-IGN refugees
that make up Team WB/PX helped build over the past year and a half, and I
look forward to not only continuing, but improving on the good work that we
have been doing in the past!
With the transition in the upper echelons of Team WB/PX comes some changes
to CJMarsicano.com. The invitation has already been extended and the writers
that have previously been featured here at CJMarsicano.com will be part of
Team WB/PX under my leadership if they so choose.
I sincerely look forward to continuing to provide to Wrestling Bytes' and
Project X's readers the same outstanding independent content that they have
come to expect from us since the days of ScoopsWrestling.com!"
